Document archiving

When liquidating a company, archiving is an important process to ensure that important company documents are properly stored in accordance with legal acts and are accessible when necessary, for example, during legal or financial disputes.

The main company data that needs to be archived: financial, personnel, legal, operational and electronic documents.

Need for archiving: laws require the storage of certain documents for a specified period; after the termination of the company’s activities, archived documents may be needed for accounting checks, audit processes or the resolution of legal disputes; documents can be used as evidence in disputes with customers, suppliers or institutions.

Archiving process:

  • We will systematize documents, create files, descriptions and lists in accordance with the requirements of regulatory legal acts.
  • We will prepare a historical certificate.
  • We will organize documents in accordance with the requirements of the Archives of the Republic of Lithuania and deliver them to the archives of cities or district municipalities of the Republic of Lithuania.
  • We will receive a certificate from the municipal archives confirming that the documents of the liquidated company have been transferred for storage.
  • Documents whose storage period has expired and which have no further value are destroyed in accordance with the requirements of applicable legal acts.
